The Barillaro family, John, Laurie, Brandi and Dawn moved to Mexicali, Mexico, in February of 1994, with the
blessing of their home church, Calvary Chapel Chino Valley. They set up house in the back of their Chevy pickup on a
vacant lot in Colonia Rivera Campestre where they attempted to learn the ways of the people and their language in order to
share whith them the Gospel. They eventually found a home to rent and began holding services for the children there.
Their Spanish was weak but the Lord was not and the small group of children sloooowly grew to some adults and more children.
As the years went by, converts in John's weekly Bible studies in the prison began to attend CC Mexicali upon their release
from prison. Today, CC Mexicali is composed of a wide variety of ex-convicts and is a living testimony of the
grace of God to restore broken lives.
Our family is blessed beyond
measure by the work that God has allowed us to be a part of here in Mexicali these past 16 years. His faithfulness to
us is beyond comprehension, there are not words to express His everpresent care for us in our every need, weakness, fear and
failure. We continue to stand in awe of this holy, mighty God, our Creator, who calls us His friend. Thank you
